Overview
What a Proper GA4 Setup Looks Like
GA4 records everything as events. That flexibility is useful, but without a plan most properties end up with inconsistent names, missing parameters and key events that do not match what the business counts as a result.
We start from the decisions your team needs to make, define the events and parameters that support them, and implement them through Google Tag Manager so the setup stays maintainable as the site changes.
Signs you need this
- Reports show traffic but not what it produced
- Event names are inconsistent or duplicated
- Key events do not match leads or orders
- Internal and spam traffic are mixed in
- Nobody is sure what the numbers mean

Can you migrate our old Universal Analytics setup?
Universal Analytics stopped processing data in July 2023, so there is nothing to migrate live. We rebuild the tracking in GA4 using your old goals and events as a reference.
Do we need Google Tag Manager for GA4?
It is not required, but we recommend it. Tag Manager keeps the GA4 tags, triggers and variables in one place with version history and preview testing.
What is the difference between events and key events?
Every interaction in GA4 is an event. Key events are the events you mark as important business outcomes, such as a purchase or a lead, and they can be imported into Google Ads.
Will GA4 match our CRM or order system exactly?
Not exactly. Consent choices, ad blockers and attribution rules create gaps. A good setup keeps the gap small and explainable, and we document where it comes from.
Can you connect GA4 to BigQuery?
Yes. We link GA4 to BigQuery for raw event export when you need custom analysis, longer history or joins with other business data.
